The 2014 Honda Accord Coupe vs. the 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe
Going from four doors down to a sporty two, 2014 Honda Accord Coupe is equal parts professional and fun, as well all performance. The Honda is a favorite in the Raynham and Easton area for its attractive look and forward-thinking features. Of course it’s not the only vehicle that meets these standards.
There’s also the 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. It’s pretty stylish too and focuses heavily on performance. Which coupe is right for you? Let’s look closer.
Performance and Fuel Economy
A standard 185 hp 2.4L four-cylinder engine powers the Accord Coupe with the option of trading up to a 278 hp V6. When equipped with the continuously variable transmission, the 2014 Honda Accord Coupe is estimated to get 26 mpg in the city, and 34 mpg on the highway, for a combined average of 29 mpg.*
The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is only available in either a 274 hp 2.0L turbocharged I4, or a larger 3.8L V6. With more power typically comes less efficiency, and that’s especially true in this case. 2.0L turbocharged models only get a 17 mpg city and 27 mpg highway rating for a combined average of 21 mpg. Honda gives you the choice for better fuel economy, but Hyundai doesn’t.
Even at a starting price that’s lower than the Genesis Coupe, the Accord Coupe comes equipped with several key features that are missing from its competitor. This includes:
- Dual-zone automatic climate control
- A rearview camera
- A stereo anti-theft feature
